Today, on the occasion of Independence Day, Vidiyal community leaders participated in the Gram Sabha meetings held at Arakkankottai and Kongarpalayam villages in Gobi Taluk, and at Uthandiyur and Makkinakombai villages in Sathyamangalam Taluk. During these meetings, the local people expressed their needs and raised requests for essential infrastructure facilities. The Vidiyal leaders supported the villagers in presenting petitions to the authorities. Key issues included proper road connectivity, safe drinking water, street lights, and housing needs. The community also highlighted the importance of government schemes reaching every household. The leaders emphasized collective action to bring about development in rural areas. They encouraged active participation from youth and women in these meetings. The petitions submitted were officially recorded by the Gram Sabha. This process strengthens grassroots democracy and ensures the voices of marginalized communities are heard.
