20-05-2025 - On 20th May 2025, the residents of Udayamarathumedu Colony, a village located in Sathyamangalam Taluk, Erode District, submitted a petition to the Revenue Tahsildar’s Office. The petition urged the authorities to remove the term "Colony" assigned to their locality by the Tamil Nadu Government, as it carries a tone of stigma and exclusion. The effort was facilitated and guided by Mr. Pasupathi, a field worker from Vidiyal Society. Community members Mr. Ponnusamy and Mr. Karuppusamy were also present to support and represent the residents' collective voice. 2025 மே 20ஆம் தேதி, ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் சத்தியமங்கலம் தாலுகாவிலுள்ள உதயமரத்துமேடு குடியிருப்பில் வசிக்கும் மக்கள், தங்கள் பகுதியை "காலனி" என குறிப்பிடும் பெயரை நீக்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொண்டு, வருவாய் தாசில்தார் அலுவலத்திற்கு மனுவை சமர்ப்பித்தனர். இந்த நடவடிக்கையை விடியல் சங்கத்தின் துறைத்தொழிலாளர் திரு. பசுபதி வழிநடத்தியார். இம்மனு நடவடிக்கையில் திரு. பொன்னுசாமி மற்றும் திரு. கருப்புசாமி ஆகியோரும் சமூகத்தை பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்தி கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
